There is a CDC travel alert for women of childbearing age and pregnant women planning to travel to:

  • Mexico
  • Central America
  • South America
  • The Carribean, including Puerto Rico

Please either avoid travel to these areas or take precautions regarding mosquito exposure. There is an association now suspected between the Zika virus and microcephaly in newborns. If you are expecting a child and return from one of these areas with a fever, please notify your doctor and consider testing. There is more information on prevention of mosquito borne illnesses here.
