COVID-19 December Update
Dec 1, 2020 – Dr. Paul
As this pandemic continues into the 3rd surge, we continue to proceed cautiously, for the safety of all of our families as well as for our own staff. How do we do this?
- By booking one well visit every 30 minutes early in the morning and early in the afternoon. This leaves us time to see sick children later in the mornings and afternoons, outside in full protective gear.
- We try our best to have only one family inside the office at a time, which is at times difficult if patients are running late or if a visit takes longer than expected. With this in mind, we ask you to please be on time; we also will do our best to run on time.
- Try to keep space between yourselves and other families that you may encounter in our office, and always wear your masks.
- We do aggressive surface and air sanitation (we have purchased HEPA filters for the exam rooms).
- When you arrive at the office, please wait for the screening protocol, a temperature and screening questions before entering the main office area.
- We have been seeing all well visits (checkups) inside the office. Sick visits that involve fever and/or respiratory symptoms are always seen outside in the parking lot at the back door of the office. When you drive up to the Suite 100 door at the back of the building, head towards the eastward direction. We are continuing to do certain noninfectious visits inside the office when appropriate.
- We answer our emails as able during the day. Please remember: email is not for urgent matters.
- Virtual visits at doxy.me/bocachild are scheduled throughout the day as needed. These virtual appointments must be scheduled ahead of time by phone with our staff.
- We usually are able to offer COVID-19 PCR nasal swabs; turnaround times have been 2-7 days. Please call first, because when our turnaround time gets too long, we at times refer this testing out. There are still no good quality antibody blood tests as of yet.
Warm regards,
Doctor Paul
