COVID-19 August Update
Aug 1, 2020 – Dr. Paul
As this pandemic continues to build, we have acclimated to our new scheduling. We are booking one well visit every 30 minutes all through the day. We are trying to have only one family in the office at a time which is sometimes difficult if patients are running late or if a visit takes longer than expected. Please try to be on time; we will do our best as well. Also try to keep space between yourselves and other families that you may encounter in our office and wear your masks.
We have been seeing mostly well visits inside the office. Sick visits that involve fever and/or respiratory symptoms are seen in the parking lot under the huge double tree just east of our building. We are continuing to do some problem visits inside the office when appropriate. We answer our emails as able during the day. Please remember email is not for urgent matters. Virtual visits are done through the day as needed. We have been and will continue to do aggressive sanitation of air and surfaces within the office after every visit. Please wait in the waiting room for a temperature and screening questions before entering the main office area.
We offer COVID-19 nasal swabs through Quest and LabCorp although at times we have run out due to limited collection kits supplied to us by the lab. Unfortunately, turnaround times have ranged from 5-8 days. We are starting to work with two independent labs that we hope will be quicker. There are still no excellent antibody blood test as of yet but we are getting closer to that.
Again, we are here for you. Call or email us at any time. Spend some time outdoors doing fun things in a safe manner and keep communicating with friends and other family members safely and/or virtually. I know you have concerns about school. I can certainly try to help guide you in the best direction for your particular family.
Warm regards,
Doctor Paul
